Welcome to Sonya Lorenz Gems, where passion for gemstones meets the science of gemmology. I’m Sonya Lorenz, founder and owner, as well as a Gemmologist who has studied with the Gemmological Association of Australia. I’m delighted to share my love for fine gemstones and the stories they tell.

My journey began over 13 years ago in the heart of Australia’s opal capital, Coober Pedy, a place renowned for its vibrant gemstones and rich history. It was here, surrounded by the natural beauty of opals and coloured gems, that my fascination with gemmology and the art of gemstone sourcing was truly ignited.

Since then, I’ve travelled extensively to handpick some of the world’s most exquisite gemstones, including stunning finds from Australia and beyond. Every gemstone I select is chosen with the utmost care, ensuring its beauty, quality, and authenticity. My aim is to bring you treasures that will be cherished for generations.
